Ahhh it was just so amazing! This was our 5th Club Med experience and 3rd in Kiroro (I’m sure once you experience it for yourself you’ll see why!!)
Bonus was our GO we met on arrival, where we were served with hot tea and warm towels. We got to know her better over the course of our stay, and she is so sweet and genuine and super friendly and helpful. Its so nice to be able to keep in touch with her even after our stay! We also got to have dinner with her a couple of times, which was such a blessing.
My skiing journey started way back in 2019 at Club Med Tomamu, and since then I’ve absolutely adored it. But this stay, I decided I would be adventurous and try snowboarding for the first time haha!! I am so truely grateful for all the instructors I had because they made learning it a whole lot easier and really enjoyable.
I har Sarah for SB Beginner on day 1, and she was super patient and chill, and got me doing heel and toe edge by the end of the day! I was stoked with this progress because it’s sooo different to skiing and I thought it would take me days to even be able to stand up haha. She was also really encouraging and recognised that I was struggling a bit, and was able to help me improve.
Milos was another outstanding instructor who I had for SB Beginner, SB1 and SB2. He was really great at giving the group individual help and took us down one by one to correct our technique and make sure we’re safe doing it. He taught me how to do an S-turn, and took us down Yoichi 1B on my 4th day! I was really happy with the progress I made from his teaching, because never in a million years did I think I would be riding down Yoichi on a snowboard instead of skis!! We had the pleasure of dining with Milos as well, and it was great to get to know him more.
Kubo was my SB1 instructor for a day, and he took us up the family lift in the morning and to Nagamine and Yoichi in the afternoon. Skating really was not my thing - I struggled so much to find a good balance and to push the board even a small distance without falling. I think he noticed this when I was trying to load the family lift and somehow drifted to the side and stacked it lol. But thankfully he was really patient and encouraging, and took the time to give me some drills to improve my skating, and the next day (my last day) my instructor said my skating had really improved!! So yeah, I was so so grateful for Kubo for teaching me the proper technique because its such an important skill to have going up the levels. We got to have dinner with Kubo as well, and it was really nice to get to know him more as well!
So, after now having done skiing and snowboarding, I guess it’s true what they say about skiing being easy to learn and hard to master, and boarding being hard to learn and easy to master! I was nearly promoted to SB3 but I had to leave lol.
Head Chef John always remembered us, even last year as well! He’s so friendly and happy, and would always ask us what we want for dinner and stuff. He even specially made us this reeealllly spicy curry but it was still so delicious! The whole team should be so proud of their gifts of cooking, because we went back to our rooms in a food coma every single night!! I definitely recommend the beef wellington and lamb shanks!!
Sam also remembered us from the past 2 times and is so sweet and did everything she could to make our stay more enjoyable! She even arranged for an instructor from Peak to have dinner with us, who was in Grand last year! She would always check in with us, ask us how everything is. She was definitely a blessing to us!
Dolphin at the bar was a legend!! He made the best strawberry mocktail in the world, and I kept coming back for it every day! Other amazing bartenders were James (who we met last year), and Dogonay. Everyone was so friendly and tried their best to fulfil every unusual mocktail request my sister and I had haha!
Kyle from teens cub also instantly remembered us when he saw us, which was so sweet! We had a blast doing karaoke with him one night! He joined us for dinner as well and it was so good just to catch up and also learn more about him. He is such an outgoing personality and always encouraged us to get involved and have fun! He definitely made our stay more enjoyable!
The night entertainment was so amazing to watch. All the performers work so tirelessly to put on an amazing quality show every night, with super late night rehearsals, and lots of them also being instructors by day! They are all so talented and I am so grateful for their performances - the best way to end a day on the slopes!
The room service team should definitely not go unnoticed! They worked so hard every single day to replace our towels, clean our bins, make our beds, etc. They made our stay so much more comfortable which I am so grateful for!
There were so many other GOs that made us smile during our stay, including Atom, Angel, Hinako, Top, Bew, Perla and Rory (ski instructor). We are so grateful for every one of them and for making our stay more fun and memorable! But also thank you to every GO, for being part of our experience this season!
Also shout out to Zack, the CDV who we met at Tomamu way back! It was so good to see him again, and he runs a tight ship!!
Thank you all again for this season, it was truly memorable and we really hope to be back in the future!
