We just visited ClubMed in Cancun. Beautiful beaches and no fights to find chairs on the first raw even late in the morning. But the best part is the people. We met two amazing administrators here. Jasmine works on the front desk and David works in the boutique. Jasmine is everywhere. She has such amazing personality and took such good care of us. I am grateful. The buildings are older and surviving is sparse. There are two restaurants and a cafeteria. We mostly ate in the Cafeteria and it was adequate for our needs. Don’t forget to get bug spray you will need it. We have enjoyed our low key, relaxed vacation here.

Club Med Cancun Visist Number 5

Pickleball and the water park will become their biggest attractions as the sport become more widespread and the next generation of our Club Med "kids" grow up and have children of their own!

Club Med needs to remember that their most unique selling proposition is the GO Chief of the Village and GO Team members interacting with the GMs. During the more than two decades we've been going, we've met so many great and memorable Chiefs of the Village. A great Chief made it his/her mission to know the guests by interacting and being visible. He/she would greet or eat with guests during lunch or dinner (sometimes even breakfast), do Crazy Signs, introduce every Show Time, did the Welcome meeting to newly arrived guests, etc.

At this Club Med Cancun, we NEVER SAW nor MET the Chief of the Village named Juan Luis (?) during our entire trip! We had to look up his/her name in the wall to know if there was one functioning Chief.

His staff gave excuses such as 1) he's probably at the office doing paperwork (really? does he not know how to delegate even for an hour?); 2) it's low season so there aren't too many guests (what are we then?) and 3) he's giving the chance to potential Chief of the Village trainees to get on the job training (still unacceptable excuse as he could make himself known even once. In fact, the best training for potential Chiefs would be to shadow him, leading by example).

The best Chiefs of the Village had "Call Names" (nicknames given by the guests and the GO Team members because they were true mentors). Two decades later, we still remember "Teach" from CM Ixtapa, the "Marrakesh Lady" from CM Turks and Caicos, the "Belgian" from CM Huatulco --- their common trait was their VISIBILITY during the morning walks, lunchtime activities, introductions during Show Time, and Crazy Signs. They were the embodiment of Club Med and we miss them big time!

Sam Lonnberg - Cancun club med 2025 review

5/55/5 • 8/9/2025

First and most importantly I’d like to acknowledge the crew/employees and people that take of you at club med Cancún, they were the absolute best part of our experience and we were treated like platinum. Sammy who works in the mini club, made me and my partner Kyra’s experience seem less and stress free by helping us plan things, giving us the times to book things and when to be at places. She sacrifices a lot of her time during the span of a day to make sure your day is perfect and works so hard to make sure the guests are having there best possible experience. I feel I need to mention other employees as well that made our experience one of the best if not the best vacation I’ve ever had and that includes Dorian, Alan, Miriam, Hamza, Lalo and Thais, every day one or more of these people would check in on our day and make sure it would be better. Dorian is a beast of a worker and a quality, considerate human being that cares a lot about what he does. Dorian consistently works harder then anyone I’ve ever seen and checked in on me and my wife countless times, absolute top quality dude. Alan is in animation and also is an awesome costume designer who has to find what he can in the area to put on extravagant shows every night for the guests and he does a top quality job mixing fashionable outfits with humorous outfits to keep the crowd entertained thoroughly. Miriam also is in animation and ensures top quality shows are put on every night she is an awesome girl and an awesome dancer and taught me and my wife traditional salsa as she runs classes as well. Alan and Miriam are also top quality humans as they would check in on me and my wife every time they saw us, they are both just awesome people. Hamza is the best bartender and is your guy if need a drink, this guy is super personable, charming, and hospitable as he would sit with our group and get us anything we needed and brought us so much without hesitation, Hamza works real hard and overall is just an awesome dude. Lalo also works in animation and also works his butt off, he was super awesome with me and my wife and is really funny guy to as he had the whole crowd going dressing up and lip syncing to famous songs and artists in a special show the club does. Thais is also a work horse from the mini club and she is super knowledgeable when it comes to operations, availability of restaurants, timing of shows, and overall is just an awesome girl. Me and my wife had some awesome days to planned by members of the club thanks to the chichin Itza excursion (one of the seven wonders of the world), also where you get to swim in an open cave called an Cenote which was hosted and planned by our guide Ludo who knew everything and gave great recommendations on books, movies, food, and local drinks. Another awesome experience was our boat ride to Isla Mujeres were you get to ride on or in the boat (your choice) to an island, and then get to drive around in golf carts around the island, then get to go swimming in beautiful clear water. The boat ride was hosted by Adrien and he was super hospitable and took care and of us with food, drink, and multiple avenues of transportation. Finally because it’s hard to sum everything up since it was such a positive venture for the two if us is if anything invest in the people here they will make your experience better then any other option. This is everyone I could remember that made our time there amazing:
Sammy, Thais, Fabi, Karla (mini club)
Dorian, Costa, Lalo, Nolan, Aaron (animation)
Alan & Miriam (animation)
Lalo, Hector & Delvi (reception)
Brandon (infirmary)
Hamza, Thomas, Angel (bar)
Karla (coffee bar)
Elias (housekeeping for 6204)
Adrien & the catamaran crew (excursions)
Ludo & the Chichen Itza crew (excursions) Rocio (housekeeping for 5123)
