Cancún Mexico

We had a wonderful vacation at Cancun. The beach was beautiful and when the new pool is finished the area should be perfect to spend a day. My children loved the waterpark and spent hours there. Resort was kept very clean.

I thought there was a nice variety of food and found something delicious at every meal. Orlando did a great job taking care of our breakfast and lunch needs at Taco Arte as did the rest of the wait staff. The bartenders were attentive but at times more were needed as lines were long.

As a family of 4, we stayed in the Aquamarina. The room was spacious and met all our needs. It was cleaned spotlessly each day by Minerva.

We participated in all the activities and found the GO's to be enthusiatic and friendly. Power, Allen, and Oled made soccer fun for my boys. The trapeze staff was professional and encouraging in learning. Samantha and Nelson taught workout classes that I reguarly attended. My family enjoyed the daily pickleball tournaments with Julio.

My sister and I spent a week at Club Med Cancun. The resort was nice but some of the amenities were not available as it was under renovation. I understand that the renovations will be completed later in 2026.
Be prepared for super hot and humid weather. I brought plenty of reef friendly sunscreen but ended up wearing a long sleeved spf shirt while swimming. There are multiple beaches. The two best were the ones located near the Taco Arte and The Estancia restaurants. The beaches were equipped with thatched umbrellas, lounge chairs and little tables. The sand was white and the waters were crystal blue. The water at the beach near Taco Arte was calm and shallow. I think this would be a safer spot for young children as the water at the other beach was rougher and had a sharp drop off.
The restaurants are a mix of ala carte and buffet style dining. The Hacienda is the main dining area and is a buffet. This was my favorite restaurant. Not because of the food which was good but because of the server, Rodrigo. He went the extra mile to make our trip awesome. There was horchata the first night. I had never had it but was quickly addicted. It is a cool, sweet, milky drink that is super delicious. I was looking forward to having it every day unfortunately much to my sadness it wasn't available the next night. I pouted to Rodrigo but he said they only had it Saturdays. The following night Rodrigo surprised me with two glasses of horchata! He went out of his way to find a chef that would make it special for me. He made sure I had it for dinner every night of my stay even when he wasn't our server. This man deserves a raise!! He really pays attention to detail.
Despina also made my sister and I feel special. We ask a billion questions and she was very patient with us. She sat with us at dinner. Club Med makes you feel like family.
The room was nice with tile flooring and a good air conditioner. There is a safe in the room that is opened with your ClubMed bracelet. We had difficulties getting it opened and closed. This is probably the only thing I would have changed.
We took the excursion to Chichen Itza. I highly recommend it.

We just returned from our vacation and wanted to give a shout out to the pickleball program. Julio and his staff ran a great series of lessons and fun tournaments for all! He was patient, caring and fun. I was able to gain some new skills and improve my game The courts are well maintained and somewhat protected from the wind.
Our grandchildren were able to get on the courts and play “ made up” games with other children they had met at mini club. That was a big plus.
Aguamarina was the perfect place to stay with children, close to almost everything but circus and the main reception area. There were plenty of golf carts to get you there, though. The walk wasn’t too bad either.
Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Every time we leave Club Med, we are eager to book our next stay at Club Med. We travel A LOT, but most of the time we return home exhausted. After Club Med, we are all rested, well-fed, and happy.

Our 4-year-old wants to move to Club Med Cancun. She loves the beach, the pool, the water park, and the kids club, but what really distinguishes Club Med for her is the acrobatics. She is obsessed with the trapeze and circus arts more broadly. We are especially grateful to Zam and Roman at the Mini Club, as well as Margo at the trapeze, who were all amazing.

I very much enjoyed the fitness classes with Nelson and Samantha. I tried different classes every day and, as a result, learned a lot about my workout preferences.

My husband relaxed and read, which is what he wanted.

Remarkably, all three of us LOVED the food. My daughter started out eating only pasta, but by the end of the week had diversified to lamb, pastrami, meringue, focaccia, chickpea curry, and a few other foods. My husband, who is a picky eater, never had trouble finding several dishes he loved. I enjoyed having fresh French pastries or tamales or fresh-squeezed juice for breakfast, ceviche every day for lunch (special shout out to Alicia, who always made the ceviche exactly as I liked it), and so many amazing dishes (paella, tagine, rack of lamb, fish tacos, bao) for dinner.

I often joke that I recommend Club Med to friends so often Club Med should be paying me commission, but I honestly can't think of another vacation that works so well for families with small kids. Can't wait for our next trip there!
