History of Padel
What is Padel?
Padel, also known as paddle tennis, originated in Mexico in 1969. However, it wasn’t until 1974 that the first official padel club opened in Marbella, Spain. Combining elements of tennis and squash, padel is played in doubles on a 20x10m court—slightly smaller than a standard tennis court—surrounded by glass walls. Like squash, padel allows players to use the walls to keep the ball in play, adding a unique twist. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, padel is an accessible and enjoyable sport, where basic skills can be picked up quickly, making it perfect for all ages and skill levels.
